Who we are
Rung is an online version of the classic South Asian trick-taking card game (also known as Court Piece). Contact: playrung.gg@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account information. If you sign in with Google (or Apple, on iOS), we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from that provider. If you play as a guest, no personal information is collected — a random identifier is used instead.
- Game data. Your display name, match results, statistics (games played, wins, streaks), and leaderboard standings, linked to your account identifier.
- Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand aggregate usage (screens viewed, features used, approximate region, device type). This data is aggregated and not used to identify you.
- Push notification tokens. If you enable notifications, a device token is stored so we can send you game reminders. Declining notifications is always available.
Voice chat
In-game voice chat is transmitted peer-to-peer between players using WebRTC. Voice audio is never recorded, stored, or routed through our servers. Your microphone is only active while you have voice chat switched on, and the in-game indicator always shows when it is.
How we use your information
- To operate the game: matchmaking, live play, profiles, statistics, and leaderboards.
- To send notifications you have opted into (for example, session reminders).
- To understand aggregate usage and improve the game.
We do not sell your data, show ads, or share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes.
Service providers
Rung runs on Google Firebase (authentication, database, analytics, notifications) and Vercel (website hosting). These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.
Data retention & deletion
Your account data is kept while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time at play.rung.gg/delete-account — this removes your profile, game history, statistics, leaderboard entries, and notification tokens, and cannot be undone.
Children
Rung is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above.
